About Me

Hi! I’m a Philadelphia, Pa-based health and fitness writer with a Master of Science degree in Health Education.  I work in the field of behavioral health and child welfare. I’ve written numerous articles on health, wellness, and education, and my mission is to help share the values of the Black culture through food and sports.  In my earlier years, I was a tennis coach and a girls’ basketball coach and I witnessed the values of mentoring and sharing life experiences that uplift the Black community. Exercising has its benefits, but life lessons passed down from generation to generation can last a long way.

As a child, growing up in an urban community of Philadelphia, I loved playing sports.  However, I also respected my role models . My parents, teachers, and coaches guided me, and provided instruction so that negative influences wouldn’t have an impact on my life. I’m thankful to God and for these people He placed in my path. If it weren’t for them, I don’t know where I would be today.

Whether you are a parent, teacher, coach, daycare provider, or a child yourself, read my blog and learn the many ways you can empower others.  Inspire someone to reach their goals and keep moving whatever life throws their way!  Motivate them to live a healthier lifestyle and to take small steps!
